Every 29 September, International Coffee Day is celebrated all over the world!
Although the exact origin of International Coffee Day is unknown, many countries now celebrate this occasion to pay tribute to one of the world’s most beloved beverages.
It is worth noting that the stimulating properties of coffee were discovered as early as the ninth century by an Ethiopian shepherd who observed the behavior of his sheep after they ate coffee berries found in nature.
The consumption of coffee as a drink began around the fifteenth century in Arab countries and later spread to Italy, the rest of Europe, and the Americas.
Today, enjoying a cup of coffee is a daily ritual for many of us, regardless of how or where we drink it. In the world of cinema, coffee has also played an important role: great artists such as Totò in Italy and Sterling Hayden in America could not give up coffee on set. It was their constant companion during many adventures.
In Italy, espresso is king, but espressino, coffee with cream, and coffee “corrected” with grappa or sambuca are also much loved. A good coffee is hard to refuse—so drink it as an espresso, long, with milk, or macchiato, and simply enjoy it!
